According to recent reports, sources in Ducati Indiahas just revealed that the company is planning to launch the 959 Panigale in India by July 2016. The Ducati 959 Panigale was unveiled at the EICMA show in Milan in October and will be the global replacement for the 899 Panigale.  However, Ducati has not yet made any official statements about the exact date for the 959 Panigale's launch in India as the production schedule and delivery timeline of the model is yet to be finalized at Ducati’s Thailand facility.

Talking about the looks, the revamped 959 Panigale gets a wider snout with bigger air intakes and now weighs 7 kg more than the outgoing 899 Panigale, most of that extra weight accounted for by the two side mounted shotgun-style exhaust end cans and sound deadening material inside the engine and fairing panels.

The most significant change, at least visually, on the UK veersion, are the side mounted exhausts. Those are something which Ducati can't do without, to meet Euro 4 norms, and compared to the underbelly exhausts on the 899, the end cans on the 959 don't quite go with the overall Panigale look we are so accustomed to.

On the mechanical front, the 2016 Panigale houses a 955cc L-twin cylinder Superquadro engine, that can churn out 157 HP of power at 10,500 RPM and 107 Nm of torque at 9000 RPM. This has resulted in an increase of displacement of 57cc. Power and torque has increased by 9 HP and 8 Nm respectively.

Based on the cast aluminium airbox chassis, the 959 Panigale comes equipped with some of the most expensive mechanical parts including a Showa suspension, Brembo brakes that have been carried over from the 899 Panigale, racing ABS, Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa tyres, traction control, various riding modes and a quick-shifter as well. The slipper clutch has been updated to enable faster down shifting, reducinging the possibility of rear wheel locking while tackling corners. Source: NDTV Auto
