TVS has launched the Star City Plus Special Gold Edition at a price tag of Rs. 48,934, and just like any another special edition, the Gold Edition comes with only visual upgrades on the features. The bike comes in a special white colour with golden graphics and alloy wheels. The gold theme is carried further to a ‘Bike of the Year’ badge in addition to a golden 3D logo and a golden coloured TVS badging on the front visor. The motorcycle’s shock absorbers are done in red and the seat features a contrasting red coloured stitching. On the feature front, the commuter motorcycle gets a USB charging port under the seat and new tubeless tyres.
On the Mechanical front, this special edition stocks a 110cc single-cylinder engine, mated to a 4-speed gearbox, churning out 8.4 PS of maximum power at 7000 RPM and 8.7 Nm of peak torque at 5000 RPM. The bike also comes equipped with a telescopic suspension up front and 5-step adjustable hydraulic shocks at the rear. Retarding power comes from 130mm drums at the front and 110mm drums at the rear.With a fuel efficiency of 86 km/l, the TVS Star City Plus Special Gold Edition is costlier by Rs. 1800 over its standard counterpart.
