MV Agusta, the legendary Italian manufacturer will be bringing its entire portfolio of products in the next two years. The first bike to reach India was the Brutale 1090. This time around, the company has just brought in the F3 800 ABS motorcycle to our country, most likely for homologation purposes. This indicates that MV Agusta is eager to launch its products in the Indian market very soon.
On the mechanical front, the super bike MV Agusta F3 800 has a dry weight of 173 kgs, it derives its power from a 798cc three-cylinder engine that churns out maximum power of 148 HP at 13,000 RPM and 88 Nm of peak torque at 10,600 RPM. The impressive power to weight ratio of 1.17 HP/kg propels the supersport motorcycle to a top speed of 269 km/hr, through a slick 6-speed transmission.
The bike comes equipped with features which includes ABS and a Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System (MVICS) platform that combines traction control and electronic control of the throttle for increased stability. It rides on a Sachs monoshock rear suspension with 123 mm of travel and 43 mm up-side down Marzocchi forks at the front with 125 mm travel. It quickly loses its speed thanks to classy Brembo 320 mm twin disks up-front and a single 220 mm disc brake at the rear.
Based on a Trellis frame made from tubular steel, the bike has a fuel tank capacity of 16.5-litres. The MV Agusta F3 800 will go head on with the likes of the Triumph Daytona 675 and the Ducati Panigale 899. The very potent machine is expected to be priced around Rs. 15 lakhs (ex-showroom) and is set to set the streets on fire with its stellar looks.
